Janis Henandez

Janis Hernandez is an experienced business owner, who understands the ins and outs of running a business.

She took a break from business and was a stay-at-home mom, raising her 3 children for 10 years.  During those years, she also ran her home like a business, and was able to take extensive trips all over the world with her children, while keeping to a one-income household budget.   She used her business skills to home school her kids, keep a tidy home, and save enough money to eventually own her own home in Victoria, BC.

In 2014, she upgraded her business knowledge by receiving her Masters Certificate in Project Management through UVic, and is currently continuing to learn by taking business courses through Camosun College.  She believes that constantly learning more about your trade, will keep your business relevant in this quick and ever-changing society.  She has built successful businesses from scratch.  She also has 10 years experience in bookkeeping and loves working with numbers to make sure everything balances.

Janis believes that the books aren’t the only things that need balanced.  She states, “We, as humans, in this day and age, have a lot of stress and expectations placed on us.  We need to learn the skill of balance, in all aspects of our lives.  Balance comes in many forms; being employed, saying no, setting boundaries, going on frequent mini-vacations, meditating, hiking, and/or any other stress relieving activity you enjoy.”

1. She loves cats and dogs, but prefers cats.

3. Enjoys the outdoors and would rather hike than party.
4. Believes in building relationships in business.
